I think you will find you are not at the Max for your iMac. I think your model will actually take up to 6GB of Ram. Apple often state one limit to Ram but the reality is often different However, having said all that, I worked on many projects in Logic with only 4GB of rRam and rarely had to purge the memory so are you sure there isn’t another program or programs running at the same time as Logic, that is also using up your valuable memory?
